The Story of

Philip Visali began his insurance career in Sarasota, Florida. After years as a captive agent, he yearned to break free of the restrictions that came with being a representative of a single insurer. He knew there had to be a better way to shop for and sell insurance. Philip then decided to become his own boss.

Establishing an independent agency, however, proved challenging. After years of building relationships with top insurance companies, Phil envisioned this new and better way for agents to gain market access. Once he secured multiple carrier relationships, he saw the need for full back-end support. We Insure then developed a revolutionary support system that allows our agents to focus on what they do best- sell insurance.

Chief Executive Officer

Phil started his insurance career in 1997 with Bankers Life and Casualty as a Life and Health sales agent selling Medicare supplements to the senior market while attending the University of Florida in Gainesville. The following year, Phil was hired as a customer service representative with Nationwide Insurance in Gainesville and was instantly hooked on the P&C side of insurance. Due to the limited availability of new agency owners with Nationwide, he opened his first insurance agency with Allstate Insurance in Sarasota, Florida. He received many honors and awards for his service. In 2009, Phil founded We Insure Florida Inc., because he found representing only one company was not in his client’s best interest, and limited his potential for growth. After only nine years, We Insure has over 129 franchised locations throughout nationwide, and is continuously being recognized as one of Northeast Florida’s largest independent agencies (2013-2017 Business Journal), Best Places to Work (2013-2018 Business Journal), Fastest Growing Private Companies (2013-2018 Business Journal) and most recently, We Insure was ranked in the top 25% of America’s Fastest-Growing Private Companies by Inc. Magazine. Additionally, Phil received the “40 Under 40” award in 2013 by the Business Journal for his business model success and in 2015, Phil was also recognized by the publication as an Ultimate CEO. Phil is married to Megan and has two children: Michael and Bernadette.

Dominic Raices

Chief Financial Officer

Dominic has over 25 years of experience as an accounting professional. Having worked for various large corporations, such as Stein Mart and Merrill Lynch, Dominic has a diverse collection of knowledge that he brings to We Insure. He earned his BS from Jacksonville University and passed the Certified Public Accountant exam in 2007. Dominic is also a Reserve Police Officer with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. Dominic provides the company with financial oversight, budgeting, and investments. He implements and maintains the processes needed to ensure accurate and detailed commission reporting.

Chief Revenue Officer

As the company’s first CRO, Crowe is responsible for all revenue-generating strategies and nationwide growth. Reporting directly to founder and CEO, Phil Visali, Crowe will oversee marketing, sales, pricing, and customer support, ensuring a cohesive company strategy to achieve nationwide expansion and revenue growth.

Crowe, who most recently served as Executive Vice President for RE/MAX and Motto Mortgage franchise brands, brings more than 20 years of experience in building, leading and bringing strategy, sales, marketing, finance and technology teams together to deliver growth. Crowe approaches every opportunity with a comprehensive team approach and confidence. His remarkable track record consists of having excelled in management positions at Fortune 500 consumer retail and tech consulting companies as well as the leading global real estate franchise brand, RE/MAX. Additionally, Crowe has led teams through numerous accomplishments including new brand and product launches, acquisitions, an initial public offering, and business transformation.

Chief Development Officer

Chris Pflueger is the Chief Development Officer at We Insure, bringing over 12 years of senior level franchise experience and 26 years of professional sales expertise to the team. In his role, Chris leads the growth of We Insure in North America by developing and leading all strategic plans through franchise expansion and marketing initiatives.

Prior to joining We Insure, Chris led US franchise sales teams for 2 top franchisors: RE/MAX, LLC and Motto Mortgage. He has developed industry-leading sales teams, provided sales training in 7 countries, and ran award-winning franchise operations units. He helped propel RE/MAX from #77 to a top 5 Franchise organization in the US. And, he worked with the only mortgage franchise opportunity in the US, that sold over 100 units in its first two years (top 1% of emerging franchises).

During his career, Chris was involved in company-owned franchise operations, managed regional operations and franchise support, participated in a NYSE public offering, as well as had extensive sales success with over 1,000 units sold. Chris has earned his undergraduate degree in Economics at the University of Florida, received his MBA in Advanced Finance from the University of South Florida, and earned his CFE in 2015. Chris currently lives in Denver, Colorado with his family and remains a huge supporter of Florida Gators football.

Ron Kuruvilla

VP of Sales

Ron began his insurance career in 2006 at an independent agency in Southeast Florida after a very successful career in banking. He moved up the ranks eventually serving as the Agency Vice President. He decided to purchase a We Insure franchise in June 2013 in Delray Beach, FL. In May 2014, Ron accepted the position of corporate trainer and moved to the corporate office in Jacksonville, FL. Ron builds out the new agent training program and serves as the voice of the agency owners in the corporate office. Ron also helped rebuild the commercial insurance department. He currently oversees the commercial department, agent training, builds insurance carrier relations and is passionate about implementing new programs to help We Insure grow.

Salena Simpson

Senior Vice President of Corporate Operations

Salena joined the vision of We Insure in 2010 and has over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. She currently serves as the VP of Agency Services Operations for the Executive Team and manages our IT Department, internal networks, and disaster recovery plans of action. With over 19 years of accounting experience, Salena is a management system expert and works diligently with partnered professionals for implementing processes throughout the agency. Her consistent push to utilize the most innovative technology has given We Insure an advantage in the insurance industry.

Nick Dakuginow

VP of Licensing & Agency Services

Nick was one of the very first employees at We Insure, beginning his career in 2010. He worked his way from the mailroom to his current position today on the Executive Team, as VP of Licensing & Agency Services. Nick oversees the department that sets up our Agency Owners for their carrier appointments, licensing (including non-resident), passwords, onboarding of new producers and so much more! His goal is to create a memorable experience and provide white glove service for every person that WE come into contact with, stemming from his years of experience as VP of Service before he ventured into the national expansion role and growing area of Licensing & Agency Services.

Katie Curvel

VP of Marketing

Katie Curvel has been a leader in Marketing for more than 16 years. Most of her experience has been in the insurance industry and her education includes Double Bachelor’s Degrees in Marketing and Management, with a Digital Marketing Specialization. Her experience includes a broad range including project management, budgeting, strategic campaigns, advertising and client relationship marketing. Katie is instrumental with the vision and growth of We Insure with marketing programs, brand management, events, and corporate sponsorships.

Shelly Reiten

Vice President of Service Operations

Shelly Reiten has served as our Assistant Vice President of Service Operations since October of 2018. She came to We Insure after spending 14 years with the Berkshire Hathaway Group of Insurance Companies (National Indemnity Company and GEICO Marine Insurance) managing underwriting and training operations across three locations nationwide. She was also responsible for establishing a performance management system and developing business plan initiatives that focused on improving service levels and quality standards for the GEICO Marine Sales and Service call centers. An MBA graduate with a concentration in Executive Coaching from Bellevue University, Shelly has extensive training in metrics and establishing a coaching centered environment.
