Your Year-end Business Insurance Checkup

It’s that time of year again — the open enrollment period for health insurance plans is upon us, and it comes with the opportunity to make important decisions. As a business owner, you’ll probably be reevaluating your group health plan during this time.

So while you’re thinking about health insurance, it’s a good time to also perform a checkup on the health of your business insurance coverage. Businesses are dynamic, and so are the climates they operate within. Many changes, big and small, can occur over the course of a year. Ask yourself some questions: Did you upsize, downsize or add a location? Did you begin offering new services or stop offering old ones? Are you integrating new technology platforms? Changes such as these and others can affect your insurance needs dramatically.

Our business insurance experts will look at your property, operations, and liability risks and discuss how insurance can help you manage them. Because We Insure works with many business insurance carriers, our agents can tailor a package of coverages to suit your specific needs.

Small business package. As a small business owner, you have a lot of tasks on your to-do list. Don’t let insurance be one of the “oops” items that slips to the bottom of it. A We Insure agent can review your business insurance needs and recommend solutions to provide a solid safety net.

Commercial property insurance. Just like a homeowners policy, commercial property insurance can cover you for damage or loss to your buildings, inventory, equipment, and other physical property from fire, theft, and other perils.

Commercial general liability. The trouble with unforeseen events is that they’re unforeseen. A general liability policy can cover a variety of risks, including damage your business does to another person or their property but also things such as advertising injury and damage to premises rented to you.

Commercial auto insurance. If you operate commercial vehicles such as service trucks or delivery vans — you’ll need commercial auto insurance. Our agents can help you find a wide array of coverages to suit your needs, including: comprehensive, collision, medical payments, auto liability, coverage for employees’ cars used for your business, coverage for leased or borrowed autos, uninsured or underinsured motorist, roadside assistance, gap coverage, and loss of income.

Inland marine. If you have equipment, tools, or high-value property that you move from site to site, they may not be covered by property insurance. An inland marine policy can protect against damage and theft.

Business interruption. What happens if a fire in the business next door causes you to shut down? Business interruption insurance can reimburse you for profits that would have been made during the shutdown, operating expenses, and extra costs you may incur in reopening.

Commercial umbrella. The coverage limits on a commercial auto, property, or business interruption policy may not be enough to keep your operations up and running in the event of a significant claim. An umbrella policy with higher limits offers an extra layer of protection.

Workers’ compensation. Most states mandate that businesses carry insurance to cover employees who are injured or become sick on the job. A knowledgeable agent can help you find the right coverage and the best rates.

Before the year slips away, schedule a policy review with your local We Insure agent. They’ll help you assess your insurance needs and obtain competitive quotes from high-quality carriers in your area to help you find the right coverage. We do all that and more for you — so you can focus on getting back to business.
