A Visit From St. Nicholas … And We Insure

A Visit From St. Nicholas …

And We Insure

'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house,

Risks needed insuring said a wife to her spouse.

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,

It was clean as a whistle since a sweep had just cleaned there.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,

But all manner of worry did swirl through our heads.

Mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,

Saw insurance was needed — it was needed stat.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,

I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.

Away to the window I flew like a flash,

Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

When what to my wondering eyes should appear,

But a miniature sleigh and eight tiny reindeer.

With a little old driver so lively and quick,

I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.

More rapid than eagles he saw chance of a claim,

St. Nick knew our needs — and he called them by name.

"Homeowners! And auto! Flood and RV!

Boat, life and umbrella!" were risks he did see.

"From your car to the roof,

And behind every wall,

Your needs must be insured,

And We Insure can cover them all!"

So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,

With a sleigh full of coverage options, and St. Nicholas too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof,

The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.

I feared shingle damage and was turning around,

When down the chimney St. Nick came with a bound.

A bundle of policies he had flung over his back,

And he looked a lot like our agent as he opened his pack.

He laid out the gifts, but wasn’t done with his work,

Filling stockings with coverage quotes, he turned with a jerk.

And laying his finger aside of his nose,

And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose.

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,

And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.

But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,

"We Insure Happy Holidays, so you can sleep better at night!"
