Property Coverage offered by WE Insure Top-Rated Carriers:
- Hazard and Fire Coverage
Hazard and Fire Insurance protects your investment against loss due to unforeseen circumstances beyond your control as a landlord. This coverage may include multiple levels of protection for rental properties in such categories as Dwelling, Other Structures, Contents, Fair Rental Value, General Liability, and Medical Payments.
- Personal Liability Coverage
Personal Liability Coverage protects in the event of an accident on your property that causes personal injury or property damage to others. The coverage includes the cost to provide a defense in the event someone brings a lawsuit against you.
- Water Sewage Backup and Sump Overflow
Adds back coverage with an internal maximum limit for repair and cleanup due to water sewage backup or sump overflow. This coverage is not a flood coverage, which requires a separate policy.
- Flood Insurance
Flood insurance provides coverage against property loss in the event of flood damage. Flooding is defined by the National Flood Insurance Program as “a general and temporary condition of partial or complete inundation of two or more acres of normally dry land area or two or more properties (at least one of which is your property) from: Overflow of inland waters, unusual and rapid accumulation or runoff of surface waters from any source, and mudflows.” (2008, NFIP Flood Insurance Manual)
NFIP includes coverage for structural, personal property and built-in appliances such as dishwashers. Covered damage does not include the all contents of the home or rental property. FEMA has published National Flood Insurance Program: Summary of Coverage as a general guide to what is covered. Speak with your WE Insure agent about additional coverage available.
- Personal Property Coverage
Personal Property Coverage extends to all of the contents kept in the rental property owned by the landlord. Contents could include items stored on-site by you or provided by you for tenant use, including tools, furniture, appliances and other valuables.
- Builder’s Risk Insurance
Builder’s Risk Insurance provides coverage against damage from a covered cause to buildings or structures while they are under construction or renovation. The coverage includes the insured builder’s insurable interest in materials, equipment and fixtures used during the construction or renovation period and covers such perils as fire, wind, theft and vandalism.
- Other Structures Coverage
Other Structures Coverage extends the protection for Dwelling Coverage to other buildings located on your property, such as a detached garage, shed, gazebo or barn.
- Loss of Income Coverage
Loss of Income reimburses you for loss of rental income you incur in the event that a covered loss makes the property unlivable. Payment may be outlined in the policy in varied ways, typically for a specified time or until the property is livable once again.
